Themes
For each grant cycle, Illinois CIBER chooses several themes to guide the curricular, outreach and extra-curricular programming with the purpose of utilizing the unique strengths of the University of Illinois to address critical business issues facing the United States and the world today.
Themes for current 2010-2014 cycle are:

- Professional Responsibility & Ethics
Previous Cycle Themes were:
2006-2010
- Emphasis on Asia (Including new Asian business languages, building faculty competence in East Asian business, and expanding immersion programs for students in Asian markets)
- Technology management and product development for subsistence marketplaces
2002-2006
- Technology, Culture and International Competitiveness
